Thought it might be a good idea to post the descripition of the Vidar's Land on the forum for anyone who might want to visit. History: The Chantry is known as Vidar's Land it exists in a pocket umbral realm also known as a Steading. Independent of both the technocracy and the traditions, it has long been viewed as the last resort for mages orphaned or ostracized from their homes, mentors, and allies. There are twelve full gates leading to the place, each different, some known to well informed members of the Traditions and some known only to those who are affiliated with the Chantry. It is ruled by a mighty Trimuvirate containing three extremely powerful and before the collapse of Doisstep, infamous mages, who are commonly associated with the Hollow Ones. These three mages combine their vast abilities to ensure the continued independence of Vidar's Land and to fufill some secret agenda.
Neverthless, owing to a tragic backlash during a high ritual in the early 90's the vast majority of the Chantry's initial membership (which one amounted to about a 100) is dead, leaving barely 10 awakened members who at present claim loyalty to the Trimuvirate. The largest demographic in the Chantry is composed of a smattering of different tradition mages and their cohorts, who fleeing the many threats out in the horizon realms and on earth have sought sanctuary at Vidar's Land which has grown tremendously in the years after the onslaught of the Avatar Storm. Vidar's Land is open to anyone who agrees to a few simple rules upon entering, and owing to the combined might of its rulers, their allies, and the inhabitants of the realm is possibly the safest place in the galaxy. There are even whispers that Vidar's Land shelters some ex-Convention members, if so these rogue technomancers wisely keep to themselves.
Descripition : Vidar's Land upon entering appears as a solid white plane with atmosphere and several distinct buildings. A towering, high-rise, old style apartment building occupies the center of the white expanse. Precisely ½ a km to the northwest, is a massive gothic style architecture library with spiraling staircases and stained glass windows. And a glass wall enclosing a wilderness area (containing on its rim a forest, deeper inside there is a grassland, a beach complete with the beginnings of a sea that fades into empty white, a desert, and at its far end a tundra), stretching about 10 km is to the east of the center. There is a docking station for umbral vessels, barely two kilometers to the south east of the center. Occasionally the many other buildings contained within the steading seem to move relative to each other as if they are summoned by whoever wants to enter them. However, the reality is that to get to a building in the Chantry one must know how far it is from the nearest landmark. What matters is not direction but the magnitude of the distance. For example were a house to be 1km away from the library and I knew this fact, I could find said house without any trouble it would appear at the end of my 1km walk. However, this detachment of space within the Chantry has another effect. When trouble strikes which happens but rarely, whatever section of the Chantry is endangered separates itself spatially from all the others thus allowing the threat to be neutralized without too much collateral damage. There are four nodes within the Chantry of varying intensity, at the center is a rumored node of unbelievable power. The gates leading in and out are all different; however, the most open one in Necropolis known to tradition members, is entered into by walking through a wall outside a high class nightclub after clapping your hands three times and saying “Alakazam”. A person sized mirror serves as the gate out, the gate takes one to a place just outside the library. Also, virtue of it being a Steading, all magic is coincidental within Vidar’s Land. The season within the Chantry is Spring.

Important Personages / Cabals / Social Groups within the Chantry:
1. The "Hollow One" Triumvirate
a. These three powerful mages who created the Steading, in which the Chantry exists, protect it and its stabilizing node, to this day. Though believed to be Hollow Ones, they are actually nothing of the sort. Indeed, the ruling council of Vidar's Land is actually something far stranger. Nevertheless, they retain that key ingredient that comprises humanity, "The amalgamation of Mind and Spirit", they feel regular human emotions and despite their transcendental goals, are still subject to the whims of the human spirit. Their will, not their magic defines the three, they have survived this long out of strength of mind, spirit, cunning, and a deep understanding of this universe. Though they are ambitious, sometimes prideful, often sentimental, they have never gotten drunk on their power and fallen into the madness and the sociopathy that so often befalls powerful mages. They are true altruists, who at the core of their souls deeply want to protect humanity from the many threats that plague it. They have formulated a plan to annihilate the evils that torment humankind and all of their actions are towards the slow accumulation of resources needed to carry out this master plan. They tried a variation once before and it failed with catastrophic consequences, this time, however, they are being more patient and will go to any lengths to accomplish their mission.
b. Their vanity causes them to take upon youthful appearances; despite their immense age. However, their wisdom causes them to block away the many memories that come from such age, so that the accumullation of experiences would not threaten their ability to empathize with humanity. Curiously only the rarest few remember their past exploits, and no one but themselves could answer to exactly how long they've been around.
c. When they originally attempted to cast the massive high ritual for their goal, the backlash was enormous and could easily have destroyed a significant portion of the Horizon, had it not been contained by quick thinking and powerful paradox seals. The mages of Doisstep and others realms have nurtured a deep hatred for the leaders of Vidar's Land ever since. However, the tumultous times following the avatar storm has erased most of the bad blood between the Chantry and the Tradition Leaders. As many flee to the relative safety of Vidar's Land.

2. The Tradition Refugees
a. Currently, there are approximately two residing masters, outside of the Triumvirate, who make the Chantry their home.
i. The Old Man (aka the Sifu) an eccentric, elderly Akashic who spends most of his time instructing pupils and perusing the Chantry's incredible library. He prefers solitude to company and is chiefly concerned with two goals; first, maintaining the stability of the Steading; second, finding some to watch over the library in the event that he should perish.
ii. Song of the Stag, a relatively new addition to the Chantry, she tends the large lush forest and instructs those initiates who seek to become members of the Verbena.
b. There are a variety of other tradition members of lower rank most either initiates or disciples, there are, however, several adepts of varying traditions.
c. By far the Tradition with the greatest number of members within the chantry is the Akashics, however, there are also a fair number of Verbena, Euthanatos, Dreamspeakers, Virtual Adepts, and Sons of Ether. Members of the Celestial Chorus and the Cultists of Ecstasy are present but no affilliated member of those Traditions has reached Adept. The Triumvirate, loving diversity, is eagerly looking to recruit mentors of Adept or higher rank from those Traditions, as well as for the Dreamspeakers, Virtual Adepts and Sons of Ether.
3. The Hollow Ones and their Cabals
a. Not many outside the conspiracy of the Triumvirate, meet many of the "Hollow Ones", who seem to always be off on some mission or another at the behest of the Triumvirate. When asked about how many of them there are they reply about 11 total nowadays. Given the diversity of their spheres, they are certainly, almost all disciples and initiates, with only a single confirmed Adept, the insane instructor of initiates, Ellie Moon. Those few who survive her hazing often become core valued members of the Chantry. They each have their own personal sanctums within the Chantry and emerge rarely if ever to the Chantry proper. However, rumors persist of a rugged smoke ring blowing man who appears from time to time, and an old wrinkled man who bathes all day in lava and runs a sauna somewhere in the Chantry.

The World Tree-
Somewhere in the forest biodome is a large tree, easily as wide as two school buses. You cannot find it, even from above, unless you have been shown the way, or you are in dire need of something to put you in the right perspective of life. No one in the chantry, except the triumvirate and Song of the Stag, know how the tree came to be, but it is very powerful. Often times, runes can be seen scrawled around it, as well as smears of blood across it. The tree is full of life, and still grows. Sap from the tree is said to have magical abilities, but if you so much as scratch the tree, you may find yourself becoming a sacrifice.
