NEW YORK CITY, New York -
Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if a scientist or doctor had a breakthrough in the curing of cancer? To have the means to make terminally ill friends and family members healthy again with a "miracle" antidote? But something like that couldn't possibly be developed for years still, or could it?

That reality ((LIES)) might be sooner than we think.

Doctor Ezra McDaniels ((KILLER OF INNOCENTS)) of Pentex Laboratories has taken great measures in making this wishful thinking, a dream come true.

"When we first set out to find a cure for Cancer, we really didn't have much direction other than the fact that we knew we had to somehow target the cancerous cells and eradicate them while preserving the healthy ones," Dr. McDaniels told the New York Chronicle. "It was a great undertaking, but myself, as well as my colleagues, believe we are closer now than ever before."

Through clinical trials and willing volunteers ((VICTIMS)) to experiment with the drug being called Aevum, Dr. McDaniels has made remarkable progress and expects a finalized product in early 2010. Of course optimism aside, the drug has to be 100% effective first.

"It's a frustrating progress, how do you cure Cancer? How do you stop something that can be so relentless, so vile, so non-discriminant? Well, I for one am a believer in Aevum," Dr. McDaniels went on. "Several of our volunteers reported feeling more alive ((UNDEAD)) than they had since first diagnosed with their disease. Even more looked the part."

Did you know that today for every four Americans, there is one diagnosed with cancer? In 2008, there were about 565,650 Americans who died of cancer. Every day, 1500 people lives are taken by cancer. It is accounted for 1 of every 4 deaths. Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart diseases, and if current trends continue and we don’t do anything about it, it is expected to be the leading cause of death by the year 2010.

"My hope is that we can finalize the product within the next couple of months and finally stop this silent killer in it's tracks."

- article by Danielle Goldman of the New York Chronicle

**a successful Research + Intelligence roll (difficulty 6) would reveal the drug's name Aevum is the Latin word for "life"**
