Late one frigid, quiet evening, the forest area is rocked by what geologists of the area are calling an "abnormal earthquake." The earthquake measured a 6.8 on the Richter scale, but according to geologists, was a localized event taking place only within a several mile radius. There are no known deaths or injuries involved, but the earthquake itself did seem to have an odd consequence. As police and fire staff checked the area for injured people, they came upon a massive sinkhole. Almost a mile in radius, and several hundred feet in depth. It swallowed trees and is slowly filling with water from the local strata. A local hiker in the area at the time claims that lights were seen just before the event. The hiker, Jimmy Klondfik, was walking his dog when he saw two red lights, a white light and a blue light, but geologists have attributed this to rising gasses bubbling to the surface and igniting as the earth moved underfoot.
