Assertive and strong willed, Dawn found herself at the wrong end of a supernatural attack, and wanted to make sure she wouldn't be defenseless when it happened again. She started self defense training and researching into the occult, stumbling across enough information to fill a library, while being completely unable to discern fact from fiction. Through her research, she learned about a therapy group where each member had been involved in some kind of supernatural attack, just as she had. A few of them had even managed to eek out some meager bit of power for themselves. Through a combination rigorous discipline and sheer luck, Dawn grabbed ahold of some of that power, awakening her mind to latent psychic powers.

Dawn became a respected member of the therapy group despite her young age, and helped ease new members in when they were found, often traumatized and hurt. Her knowledge of the occult is respectable for a mortal, but still laughably incomplete. Luckily, she knows this, and never assumes she knows the whole story when looking into a creature or event. Not that she's encountered too many supernatural occurences, but enough to know there are always people that need help.

She's best at the kind of help that involves punching things in the face.
