Born into wealth in the 1750s, Leonora became a Contessa when she married Count Ignazio Cozi Di Borghini. A young woman graced with beauty and intelligence. Her husbands years were double that of hers when she was born on the day they were married in hope the young Contessa would give him an heir in light of the death of his only child previous. He did not last the year before his death came suddenly.
While appearing a benevolent man to his subjects and the huge staff of the massive house, few knew of the mans proclivities and she was soon inducted into his personal depths of his wicked desires. Every month he punished her for her inability to give him his chosen child.
His death came ironically when she finally became pregnant. The house became quiet and the staff far more than halved to a skeleton of what it was, the atmosphere darker. A man often frequented in the night but none of the servants saw his face. Rumors abounded that the child she carried was not the late Counts.
Her child was born early, and quite the sickly infant. Many believed he would not live the first year, they were wrong. For a few more years, Leonora remained in the house with her son before she left, wishing to escape the shadow of the house and take her son where his health would improve. They never returned and the house was shut up with none but a caretaker.
Her son died shortly after leaving, and soon after, her mortal life came to an end. The nights became hers and she enjoyed them with the wealth of the estate. And so it continued, through the ages and names of the descendents given in succession into the modern nights.
